Tips and Tricks

Some tips and tricks to improve your visit to the park.

  • During the winter holiday season, from about Thanksgiving until Christmas, Canobie sells discounted good-any-day passes at the Mall at Rockingham Park.
  • On the first day of the season, there is a one day sale of discounted good-any-day passes.
  • On Mother's Day and Father's Day mothers and fathers, respectively, get free admission and lunch.
  • Consider wearing dark pants if you plan on riding the Dodgem cars. The graphite used on the floor of Dodgem can stain clothing.
  • Hand stamp ink comes off easily with rubbing alcohol.
  • Remember that during the regular season, the park opens at 10:30am (for strolling, etc.), sooner than the posted hours (which is when rides actually start running). No rope drop here! You could be enjoying the park while the throng lines up for tickets outside.
  • The line for the Yankee Cannonball is usually quite long. It might be better to wait in line in the morning before the ride opens.
  • The Canobie Express train often spends a lot of time idle at its station. Riders often get on the train and then end up waiting an extremely long time. Consider catching the train at the Lake Arcade station instead (but only if you see it there-- don't wait for it). The train usually leaves immediately after boarding passengers at the Lake Arcade station.
  • The Blue Heron Lake Cruise ride has an extremely low capacity and departs only every thirty minutes. Consider getting in line immediately after the last boat has left and just waiting the full thirty minutes.
  • Canobie Lake Park at night is spectacular. This is due to the superior lighting of park and rides.
  • The sun sets across the lake. Because of this, there isn't that much time that you can take natural light pictures of things that faces away from the lake. Try doing so early in the day, in the morning if possible.
  • Jungle Bounce has one larger-sized seat, allowing adults to ride.
