Canobie Lake Park's Swimming Pool, September 4, 2006.
We are gathered here today to remember our friend, the Swimming Pool.
I did not get to know the Swimming Pool as well as I should have.
In fact, I have to admit, this was the first time that I had ever entered the Swimming Pool area!
But, it was always there, the first attraction to greet the eyes of guests entering Canobie Lake Park.
Originally an exciting draw to the park, in later years the pool was overshadowed by newer water attractions.
2006 was the Swimming Pool's last year.
Will a wave pool replace the Swimming Pool next year as the rumors suggest? Only time will tell.
So, goodbye, old friend.
